Hopkins take home the Upper School House Music Cup

20/03/2015

Today we held the Upper School House Music Competition.  The format was new, as a member of each House had to volunteer themselves through to a knockout round with only one finalist for each House and each Year Group going through.

We were lucky to have Mr John Bungard, Director of Music at York House, as our adjudicator.  I was so impressed with the technical feedback that he offered each soloist in order to help them make future improvements.  This is such a hard thing to make ‘real’ for children in such a public setting but John did this so sensitively; thank you, John for your time and wisdom.

Ultimately, this was a competition and points added up to prizes, so I am delighted to announce that half a point separated the winners from second place…and congratulations go to Hopkins, who were overall winners of the House Music Competition, 2015.  Thank you to Mrs Peacock for organising a wonderful afternoon of high level music.
