Year 3&4 Spring Concert

20/03/2015

Tonight we were treated to an evening of choral song, instrumental soloists, poetry, String Group, Brass Group and even a romp through the West End with excerpts from ‘Oliver’…and as ever, to the very highest standards.

This was the 3rd performance of the week and I am delighted to hear that it was the best!  I suspect that supper in the new Butler Hall…the first ever served…helped energise performers, as the faces told it all.  Well done to all in Year 3&4, you blew the audience away!  This was also a special evening for Ali Reid who leads both Junior and Senior Strings, as she is leaving Orley Farm after 8 amazing years.  Ali, imparts such passion and joy for music and whilst it is fantastic that she leaves to pursue a career as a professional musician, teaching has lost an inspirational ‘leader of learning’…’for now’, as Ali herself said through tears on the night!  She made it quite clear that she will be back…!  I have no doubt that Miss Toyn will have been so proud of everything that Year 3&4 achieved.  Thank you Miss Toyn for a wonderful evening!
