I was delighted to be invited to the Year 6 Science lessons this week…only to discover it was dissection week! The pupils were fully engaged and appeared delighted to be ‘hands on’ with their subject material as they cheerfully pointed out the chambers, the valves and the heart strings.
As I listened in on conversations, one pupil commented…
I saw this demonstrated at an Open Day for X (a Senior School), I didn’t realise we did such great stuff here!
We will work on the use of vocabulary, but the point was clear.
Thank you to the Science department for my invitation and, like the children, I was intrigued and donned my own pair of gloves to allow the children to teach me properly about the workings of the heart.
