Christmas Concert

05/12/2014

It’s grey wet and cold…and the coughs and sneezes coming into school are all sure signs that we are heading into the ‘hard yards’ of the year!  However, tonight St. George’s Hall was a haven of warmth and festive cheer that literally lifted the very soul, as our Music Department reminded us that

There were outstanding moments of individual brilliance as well as collective moments of ???.  This was the culmination of hours and hours in practice rooms, getting things right and wrong but coming back for more, again and again.  And it was worth it!  Thank you to Katie Peacock, Director of Music, Heather Toyn, Assistant Director of Music and the many Instrumentalists who brought tonight together.  It was exactly what we all needed!  And finally, can I end with a quote from Eddie Van Halen…advising future musicians

If you want to be a rock star, run down the road naked, you’ll make the news.  But if you want to make music your livelihood, then play, play, play  and play!  Eventually, you’ll get to where you want to be…!

Rather apt in this world of temporary fame!  For further photos…
