And then there were 3…

13/03/2015

As the countdown starts in earnest, reality is beginning to kick in and thus there were 3 members of the team catching up on some much needed pedal time this afternoon.

The debate is raging between quick release cleat pedals and specialist shoes or the more conventional trainer and pedal combination.  Some, however, are still struggling with a decision between a trusty old mountain bike or a borrowed, carbon fibre road bike… Mrs Harrison there is only 2 weeks to make your decision.  In a fortnight’s time, all being well, Ardingly and stop no 1 will be being enjoyed.

We have been overwhelmed by the support of both parents and pupils and we have already exceeded our hoped for total, thank you.

There have been some comments recently about my participation in this adventure and I have to tell you that my training is going well. I am now fully conversant with the blister plasters, muscle sprays, energy drinks and cyclist creams that are available on the market.  It is a tough job but I am proud to be doing it…  If time permits I may do a masterclass in bike riding but shopping for provisions is time consuming and exhausting.

The messages that have been left on VirginMoney have provided inspiration and focus for the team and they are appreciated.

We know that the money raised really will make a difference to the lives of children who deserve to have some days of happiness together with their families and every amount, however small, will help.
