OFA Quiz Night…A rip-roaring evening

We hosted the 2015 OFA Quiz in our brand new Butler Hall…on this note, thank you Aubrey for letting us use your amazing new space!  13 tables of the brightest and best arrived to fight for the highly prized ‘Brains of the Year’ title.

Mr Davies took our thinking skill of ‘Creativity’ to a whole new level as he based the entire quiz around a school day…from assembly to lessons, lunch to games, grey-matter was tested.  Behind the bar Mr Comer and Mrs Mitchell kept us hydrated, although I think that it would be fair to say that the ‘Mojito’ cocktails probably damaged grey cells at an alarming rate…!  Mrs Harrison and Mr Ryan nipped out to pick up 50 pizzas at the half way point…I suspect that her car might well have an interesting aroma this week?  And finally, Mrs Chambers and Mrs Calvey kept everyone honest with scores on the doors throughout the evening, encouraging suitable levels of competition!

Staff were leading things and looked like they were going to bring home the title for another year but were pipped to the post in the final round by ‘Universally Challenged’… one point being the difference!  I understand that the evening continued long into the early hours for certain tables who toured the Hill…I fear that Sunday morning might have been a little challenging for a few of you?!?

I would like to thank the OFA again for allowing the bar proceeds to go towards our charity – Keech.  More news about the £££s raised in due course but I can say that the bar took over £850 on the night…! This time in a fortnight our expeditionary team cycling to Paris will have made their first stop at Ardingly College…all being well and will be pressing on…

A very big ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in planning this evening…
