Congratulations to Akhil Sofat on his appointment as 1st XI cricket captain. Akhil makes a little bit of history in becoming the first Year 7 captain of a major sports team (football, rugby or cricket) in Mr Bloom’s 27 terms at the school! Akhil’s first match in charge saw his team fall to defeat against a very impressive Northwood Prep team in the National JET Competition (a competition we got to the semi-finals of in 2008) but our captain had an outstanding match, taking one wicket with the ball before batting throughout our innings for an unbeaten 46 runs with the bat. Good luck to Akhil and his team for the rest of the season.
