The Concert that heralds Christmas!

04/12/2015

Supermarkets would have us believe that Christmas begins in late September!  For me, Christmas begins this week, specifically with our Christmas Concert.  Parents queue up having been warmed with mulled wine…they are further warmed by the somewhat cosy seating arrangements as we all realise that too many families also see this as a winter warmer.  Luckily, we had Mr Hawkins join us, an Orley Governor who is helping us build for the future…an extension to St. George’s Hall might just be on the cards!

The evening started with a WOW, as the Orley Singers dazzled us, the Chamber Choir moved us, the Year 3&4 choir brought timing and humour, instrumentalists left us dumbstruck and the larger groups and final orchestral pieces simply blew us away!  Orley children have a remarkable ability to reach new heights, often making us forget their age, and all this at the end of a remarkably demanding term.  Your children amaze me and make me very proud to a part of an extraordinary school.  Thank you to Miss Toyn and Mr Evans for bringing joy to our lives…you and your team created a wonderful atmosphere and ethos to a chilly evening.
