The Wanderers Return!

18/12/2015

I am sure that you will have read some of the recent ‘tweets’ from Tanzania!  I have to say that there has been some envy on my part as I imagine the red soil, the African sun and the warmth of the people wrapped up in the drive of a team to achieve something special.  However, this is also tempered with the worry of having an Orley team abroad and I cannot thank Mr Davies and Miss Brodie enough for leading this trip after a long term.  I would also like to thank the parents for allowing their children to make this trip but also the pupils who, from all accounts, were exemplary in their outlook and desire to soak up experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.  It’s good to have you all back safe and sound!  I end with an excerpt from one of the most wondrous emails that I have ever read from a parent…it describes the drive home from the airport and the ceaseless tales of a trip that made a definitive impact on a young man…

Mr Davies and Ms Brodie, I cannot begin to thank you enough for this amazing experience that you have given my son and the other boys. Please, please, please don’t ever stop organising these adventures of a lifetime…
