Our 1st XI cricketers had their 1st round match of the National RNCF Shield on Wednesday of this past week. The Hall were our opponents and they amassed an imposing 142 runs off their 25 overs with Akhil Sofat and Devan Suri both taking two wickets. Our run chase was brilliant as we surpassed their total for the loss of five wickets with nearly six overs still to spare, Rikin Patel and Luke Seagon leading the way with innings of 68 and 32 respectively. The conduct of our boys, as well as their cricketing performance, was exceptional and we take our place in the 2nd round where we will face Dr Challoner’s (at home) next Friday 13th May.
