Cross Country & Road Relay News

It has been a very successful term of cross country for our pupils. Back in January, Alex Gabbitas came 9th in the Harrow Borough U15 Cross Country Championships whilst Henry Woodcock, Oliver Slade and Elliott Taylor came 7th, 8th and 9th respectively in the U13 event (both races had in excess of 80 runners). The latter three (who went on to compete in the Middlesex Schools Cross Championships), together with Kyan Mentesh (14th) won the overall team event making Orley Farm the winning school in Harrow Borough at U13 level (out of a whopping 21 teams)! Photos of the boys and the overall position table can be found below…

And then, towards the end of February, we took three teams to the annual St. Martin’s Road Relay. Our U11 boys team (Kyan Mentesh, James McWilliam, Vharsan Theebaraj and Tani Sanu) competed first and finished a creditable 7th out of 12 schools. Our U11 girls team (Sarah Harrison, Ishwari Malde, Tara Khemlani and Olivia Gough) then ran superbly to finish 2nd out of 8 schools with Sarah and Ishwari coming 5th and 6th (out of 32) respectively in the individual standings. Our U13 boys team (Alex Gabbitas, Henry Woodcock, Oliver Slade and Elliott Taylor) then performed outstandingly to storm to overall success out of the 10 competing schools with Alex coming 2nd (out of 40) in the individual standings. A great afternoon had by all!
