Failure

26/09/2014

The theme for Upper School assemblies this term is “Failure” and this week the first of these focused on the positive side of failure. Looking on the bright side and enjoying the participation rather than focusing too much on the outcome.  A range of tests, quizes and trials were performed by the children and maths puzzles, glasses half full (or half empty) and beanbags were used to try and focus on the journey, not the destination, of each challenge.

“It is no use crying over spilt milk” – Mrs Mitchell’s Grandma’s phrase was revived to illustrate the point.  Hopefully the children will learn that failure is a part of the learning experience and how we cope with this inevitable event will shape our approach to the rest of our lives.
