Unique Fee Structure

At Orley Farm we are aware that sending your child to us can be a big decision so we aim to make it as easy as possible for you.

A number of years ago, the Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team looked at the ‘extras bills’ from a number of Prep and Senior schools and took the unusual step of insisting that the termly fees cover all educational aspects.  It was felt that schools were hiding significant additional fees within the ‘extras bill’ – leaving parents facing substantial costs at the end of a year.  As a result, changes were rightly made and this still remains the case.

We operate a unique fee structure that encompasses all curriculum dependent trips, visits, expenses, materials and equipment. This includes the costs of Expedition Week, both in this country and abroad.  Theatre trips, visits to Museums and visiting speakers and workshops are all covered within the term fee.  All non-specialist clubs and hobbies are provided by the school. All food served during the school day is also included in the fees, as well as packed lunches and suppers.  We aim to ensure there are no hidden extras within school hours to account for.

Optional extras that may incur additional fees are: one to one music lessons (approx. £250 per term), third party hobby providers (Karate approx £110 per term, Fencing etc.), LAMDA lessons (approx. £110 per term), external exams of any sort (Music Grade exams range from £43 to £99, LAMDA Grades £30 to £45), optional ski trip or optional sporting trips (costs depend upon travel and accommodation).
