Testimonials

Orley Farm was once described as the best kept secret in Harrow.  I am delighted that this is very much not the case today, as pupils, parents and staff are all very proud to tell our exciting story.  The following comments were made by pupils and parents of our leavers last year.

She has received a first rate education in every possible way, both inside the classroom and outside, and it would be fair to say that it is a school that does go the extra mile

“We chose Orley Farm because, from the moment we walked in, it felt like a happy school and it really is. The fact that it is blessed with wonderful surroundings, space and facilities is of course an added bonus and the coeducational setting was also an attraction for us. Orley has not disappointed and our daughter who is about to leave has had seven extremely happy and contented years at Orley. From the moment she joined Orley in Reception she has gone into school with a smile on her face and always come out with wondrous tales to tell.

She has blossomed and thrived under the guidance of some fantastic teachers, whom she will remember for a long time, and the wide range of opportunities she has had have been second to none. Orley is a very special place where amazing things happen and fantastic memories are forged.

She has received a first rate education in every possible way, both inside the classroom and outside, and it would be fair to say that it is a school that does go that extra mile. Our daughter is extremely sad to be leaving but we know that she has had the very best start in life and we are truly very grateful to all those who have been instrumental in ensuring that her pre-school years have been both successful, exciting and happy. Thank you Orley Farm!”

I have been encouraged by my teachers to discover my full potential in all areas of school life

“When I joined in Reception I was very shy and unsure of myself.  Nine years at Orley has changed all that!  Mr Calvey has personally helped me to come out of my shell and I have been encouraged by my teachers to discover my full potential in all areas of school life.

I now play for the 1st XI football and 1st XV rugby, have made it to Grade 7 in the trumpet and have taken on lead parts in the school plays.  I’m now House Captain of Hopkins and really enjoy encouraging the younger children to have a go at all the exciting things you can do at Orley.”

The beauty of this school has to be the way that it brings out the best in your child in an unpressurised environment and this is what makes it stand apart from the other prep schools in the locality

“Nine years ago, we stood at the door step of OFS when we placed our trust in the school to teach our 4 year old son the love of learning. There was an instinctive feel that our son would do well and be happy here. We are pleased to say, that nine years down the line our instincts proved to be correct and are delighted with the end product! Our son has thrived both academically and outside the classroom, whether it be playing one of the many sports on offer at the school, taking part in a musical extravaganza, performing a privileged role in the annual school drama production or returning from expeditions week having climbed a waterfall (not many children can say this!).

There are no limits to success at OFS, you just keep bettering yourself in whatever you do! The beauty of this school has to the way that it brings out the best in your child in an unpressurised environment and this is what makes it stand apart from other prep schools in the locality. Thank you once again to the excellent teaching staff in helping our son set a sound foundation going forward.”

The children are nurtured in a cosy and warm family atmosphere

“I was eight months pregnant with my daughter who completes year 6 this summer. I saw the school and the fields and thought to myself what a wonderful place – secluded, serene and green. I know I would love to come to a school like this if I was a child and registered her for a place at age 4 having never attended an open day!

Well it was a naive approach to school selection but I have never had cause to regret because it has been a wonderful experience for both my daughter and I.  The children are nurtured in a cosy and warm family atmosphere. There is a fast pace to the studies but without pressure and plenty of extracurricular activities allowing everybody to join in. There have been some super plays and concerts and I am always amazed at how much they manage to pack into a term!”
