They made it! An amazing achievement as our intrepid cyclists navigated their way through London, over the South Downs, across the English Channel, through wind & rain (& more wind & rain…), around the Champs Élysées to our rendezvous under La Tour Eiffel.
This was not a trek for the faint-hearted and I can confirm that it was achieved with a great deal more humour, less moaning & higher levels of fitness than I was expecting!
Although, as it has been pointed out on more than one occasion, I did not actually make it onto a bike someone had to count them in at the checkpoints & provide moral support…
The team did us proud and I am delighted to report that the Orley Farm spirit was evident every step (or cycle) of the way.
An amazing total of £5000+ over double our original target has been achieved with thanks to all your generosity & we, and Keech Hospice, are incredibly grateful.
Well done to the everyone. It was an honour to be a very small part of the team & an experience to remember.
