This year has had a theme of ‘connections’ and Year 5 appear to have taken this to heart! They recently started communication with their counterparts at a school in Cuneo, Italy, where Orleyan, Charlotte Cato, is currently teaching English. Before the holidays they received Christmas posters and this week they have been making cards and a video to wish the Italian children a Happy New Year and to thank them for the posters. They hope to be making further contact through their ICT lessons this year. Who knows where this might lead…a trip to Cuneo for some face to face time along with some original pizza…Year 5 are hoping so…! A big ‘thank you’ to the Cato family for making the world a slightly smaller place…
