I have always been a big fan of the American drama ‘West Wing’, not for the political interest but rather for the fast dialogue and dynamics between the two speech writers, Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe) and Toby Ziegler (Richard Schiff). They wrote some exceptionally passionate and believable speeches for the President (Martin Sheen).
Well, today I was simply blown away as 10 of our Year 6 & 7 pupils stood up and delivered intelligent, impassioned and inspiring speeches aimed at getting them a seat on the Harrow Youth Parliament. I ought to add that they were only told about this event last week on the Friday so I can only assume that this weekend saw some furious speech writing…!?!
A big ‘thank you’ to Miss Hehir for liaising with Harrow and ensuring that Orley Farm continues to be represented at this important local government level.
