So far we have had French Day, Book Week, Maths Day and in assembly last week, not to be outdone, Mrs Clarkson announced Classics Day next week. There is a huge strain on our calendar and Miss Pandya, our new Head of Science proposed a Science Day and was asked if she would mind holding for a term or two… Not settling for this, the Science department decided to run some exceptional practicals to ignite the minds of our budding chemists, biologists and physicists. Over this week, staff in this department have filled the lunch break with a little wonderment that offers learning beyond the academic. One of the photos attached demonstrates why we do not use water to extinguish a fat fire in the kitchen! Now that’s what I do call educating beyond the classroom in every sense.
I am very privileged to have staff who simply want to use every minute to ‘sell’ their subjects…this passion is what makes for lifetime learners not one off performers…
