In the opening week of the year it is rare that I have visitors to my office for outstanding work and therefore I was delighted when Mr DuPlessis asked whether I would like to view some exceptional Year 8 work carried out in preparation for the coming term. All too often senior pupils fall into the trap of only working in their examinable subjects and this can lead to narrow and less creative thinking – the exact opposite of what is needed as we prepare for open assessments!
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Kian and Aaron talking through their ideas. I suspect that Mr Dyson and his empire might well come knocking as we prepare for Brexit and new markets for our brightest and best designers and engineers…
