A merry band of Year 4 Anglo-Saxons met in St. George’s Hall for a village meeting. Suddenly, a marauding Viking burst into the hall, declared that he was invading and took all of Year 4 as slaves!
As Year 4 were new to being Vikings, our Viking invader offered to teach us all about how to be a good Viking. We learnt about how the Vikings came to the British Isles, how slaves were treated, what type of items could be made that were invaluable for daily life, Viking riddles, how to fight bravely in battle and how to use a sword. Year 4 were lucky enough to have sword practise and many heads (cabbages) ended up in shreds!
