As many of you may know, on the 19th June 2018, the Orley Farm Community was rocked and devastated by the sudden and unexpected passing of Rahul Patel – son of our HR Administrator, Purvi. Rahul passed away on June 19th due to an incredibly rare and hidden genetic condition, leaving behind his two sister’s Ayeesha and Anjalee along with mum and dad, Purvi and Manish. He was only 15 years old.
In memory of Rahul, our school community came together to support the Great Ormond Street Metabolic Unit. This department carries out critical work in the management of rare and complex metabolic conditions and currently looks after Rahul’s sister, Ayeesha, who has also been diagnosed with the same condition that affected her brother.
On Monday, Great Ormond Street Ambassador, Gurpreet Bharya came to visit the school and shared her own amazing story with our children. I am thrilled to announce that she took a cheque for £18,942 back to the GOSH Metabolic Unit.
